WEBINARS

Kinship Kitchen offers online webinars to kinship carers and children on a range of topics from managing contact safely, to promoting a positive sense of identity, life story work and building resilience.

In October 2023, through a new partnership with Silenced, our first cohort of kinship carers started 'Who's In Charge?', an 8 week programme to support kinship carers experiencing child to adult violence.

Participants in the first cohort have said: "I'm really enjoying the training who's in charge. So relatable and practical. I can see the difference and impact in my change of parenting. Powerful stuff!"

We're exploring setting up another cohort for this course, please be in contact with us if you would benefit from this program.

KINSHIP CARERS COOKING CLUB

Kinship Carers Cooking Club is a fun group where children and carers can get together and cook a meal from scratch. Kinship Carers Cooking Club for those with children 0-11 will come back on 27th January at a new venue!

South London Gallery @ 82 Peckham Road, SE15 5LQ.  Our cooking session will be held upstairs (there is a lift) from 1pm-3pm every last Saturday of the month, term time only. We will batch cook some delicious dishes for us to take home and maybe keep in the freezer for another day. We will also be operating a community fridge with donations from our partner supermarkets.

Also, launching on 17 January 2024- NEW Teen Cooking Club! This is a group for young people aged 12-16 that are growing up in kinship care (regardless of legal order- all are welcome). The group will be held term time weekly on Wednesdays in South London, SE23. Participants will have an opportunity to gain a food safety qualification and possibly flexible paid employment, depending on their age and suitability. These groups are led by qualified social worker. All Kinship Kitchen staff that children will come in contact with are DBS checked.

KINSHIP HUB MEET UPS

In addition to our in person cooking club sessions, we also organize meet ups/fun days and in-person events for kinship carers and children to connect, as well as providing guidance, support and advice.

Join our mailing list, follow us on social media or check our EVENTS page for details of future events.

KINSHIP  KITCHEN EMPLOYABILITY PROGRAM

It has always been our aim to employ from within the hub membership.  To do this, we help upskill kinship carers and young people in kinship care by providing training and mentorship with a view to assisting them to enter/re-enter the workforce with paid work opportunities through our very own Kinship Kitchen catering service.
